Writing and Publishing Your Family History Workshop

Write your own family history to tell your story for years to come! A day-long workshop at the Genealogy Center will help you turn your photos and documents into a cherished heirloom for future generations. Organize, write and publish the story of you with these tips and tricks from family historians and genealogists. Register online to reserve a spot.

Morning Programs with Gale French, avid family historian, our Genealogy Center staff and Ron Barnett of CTGS
- Common Edits for Old Photos – Ron Barnett of CTGS presents basic how-to on using a free photo editor to restore damaged photos.
- From Fact to Narrative: Writing Your Story – create a narrative from census, pedigree charts and old photos.
- Getting Organized: the Process of Self-Publishing – get tips on the best ways to organize the presentation of your ancestors.
Afternoon Programs with Gale French and Tim de la Vega of HV Chapman & Sons
- Self-Publishing: Comparison of CreateSpace and Lulu – Learn about two of the most popular self-publishing software products on the market.
- Design to Bind – Tim de la Vega of HV Chapman & Sons of Abilene presents binding options available from a traditional publisher/binder.
